My list of things you need in your wardrobe by the end of winter. Sometimes mid winter you just feel like you need a top up so here’s some help.
A question asked over and over by women across the world is what do I wear when the weather gets cooler? Each year the answer isn’t any more simple.
It seems when the temperature drops our wardrobe options seem to shrink at a fast pace. So we really do need to invest in the season ahead, but sensibly. I think it’s good to launch into your winter wardrobe with ease, buy a few things and go back and re-visit what you could add to it. Whether it’s a brand new jacket, an updated jean or the perfect dress to see you through wintery Saturday nights, a cold-weather shopping list is important.
Let’s face it winter can be dismal so if we don’t have shopping to look forward to then what’s the point? 🙂
Here is a list of some items that can add fun, interest & more options to get you through.
The Piece : Faux fur jacket
It’s bigger than ever this season, so wear your faux fur with confidence all through winter. Try cropped, coloured and oversized styles for an instantly statement-making take on outerwear.
The Piece : Chunky Boot
Yay to comfort. Opt for a chunky heel this winter, pair with a wide legged jean, trouser or floaty skirt. The trend is white or a metallic boot this winter.
The Piece : Coloured Blazer
A coloured blazer adds instant wow to an outfit. How about wearing the same colour but different shades. Match colour families with like tones for an update on traditional colourblocking. A very chic approach!
The Piece : Florals
Don’t restrict florals to spring or summer. They have been prevalent on all runways and the wintery streets. These are now seen year-round. Try one of the many floral dresses layered up or, a floral print on a pair of jeans.
The piece : A V Neck Sweater
The V neck has made a comeback in the chicest of ways. Seen mostly in knitwear, the deep-cut neck has a place in your winter wardrobe. Pair it with a jacket for layering or something woollen (higher-cut) underneath, it’s perfect for keeping you toasty through winter.
The Piece : Velvet anything
Velvet trousers, jackets, blouses & dresses. It was here last year but it’s back this year and if you can find a gorgeous pair of velvet trou grab them especially if they are a shade of purple.
Shopping winter does take some planning. My shopping trips are well and truly in full swing for winter. I do still have some appointments to help with your shopping woes, an added bonus is shopping in places that give my clients a Stylist discount which often amounts to a rather big saving. If I can be of help just drop me a line.
Until more updates.
Enjoy layering and trying these gorgeous looks.
Yours in Style,
Johanna-May xx
