The Sun is out and whether you’re jetting off to somewhere exotic or having a picnic at the beach or in the park, dressing for the hot weather should be both effortless and fabulous! Summer is the best time of year to experiment with your style, so, here are some of my “Summer outfit ideas” – some of my favs !
Ideal for me is a printed cotton dress that’s light and breathable and in a bright colour. I love florals and feminine hues that show off a summer tan. I have a couple of fedoras that pop up occasionally especially after a long afternoon at the beach when I don’t have time to wash my hair. With this look a neutral shoe, a leather sandal or metallic sandal will finish the look.
The Summer months make me want to dress more feminine and ‘romantic’ than usual. Pleated skirts are fab as they can be dressed up or down in an instant. Teamed with a flattering off the shoulder top in a linen or soft jersey fabric and a comfortable block heel sets me ready for almost any summer adventure. Try giving the look a little edge with a cross the body bag, it may just make it look a little more luxe.
There are some really gorgeous stylish cover ups around. It’s great if they can also be worn as a normal outfit. They can certainly be multi-use items for your wardrobe, wear them over your bathing suit or even with a slip underneath as a dress to dinner.
Casually…. I still love my denim cut-off shorts. They are kind of an essential and always on heavy rotation in my summer wardrobe. I love styling them with a flowy top or loose tank. This is an even more fab look with a chic pair of aviators.
Sometimes it gets so hot you just don’t want anything clinging to you or anywhere near your body. This is a reason why I like dresses and especially a swing dress. Thanks to their ease and effortless design I do often gravitate to them. Perfect for a garden BBQ, picnic or a summer stroll. Try a looser fitting one like below, comfy, hides a multiple of sins and certainly doesn’t cling.
I could just keep going on with looks that I love, these however are going to be some of the ones you’ll be seeing me in because they are easy, feminine and suitable for lots of occasions.
